Bailey

When I debated whether to make this an official 'blog item' or not, I considered whether this was a sad post. I came to the conclusion that it is a happy post. Bailey has been part of Mackenna's life, so when we print out her blog book someday, I want her to read about Bailey. Mackenna, Bailey loved you, and you were so good together. You always got so excited every time you saw her.

The past four years with Bailey have been challenging but fun. She has made us laugh, and on occasions, cry. Bailey is just a crazy dog, in all senses of the word crazy. Following some tough decisions that Ben, myself, and Judy made together, we have relocated Bailey to a new home. Bailey is now in the care of Kara, her new mom. She has a new sister, Lana. We met them this past weekend, and they took Bailey for a 'trial' weekend at their home in Lisbon Falls. I talked to Kara on Monday and it turns out that they love Bailey and see her as a great addition to their family. We plan on staying in touch with Bailey, and even visiting from time to time. (Her new family has relatives in Windham.) It truly is a perfect fit for her. They live on a pond, and have schedules that allow them to be home with their pups frequently.

Happy Mothers Day!

What a wonderful Mothers Day today was!

On Saturday I asked Mackenna, "What are you going to get me for Mother's Day?"

 Mackenna replied, "Daddy!!!!" 

 I started with brunch with my mom at Pinecrest Inn in Gorham.

And in the evening, Ben cooked my favorite meal; a medium rare rib-eye with sweet potato, and a avocado salad. I was surprised with a set of 8 of the red wine glasses I've been swooning over! 

I said it last year, and I'll say it again this year. I'm so lucky to have two wonderful mothers in my life. My mom, and my mother- in- law. And the older I get, the more 'mom' friends I know, who are also important to me as mother role models.

Twenty Months.

I'm 20 Months Old! 

• I can say please. We are working on saying thank you.
• I always want to go outside, and say 'OUTSIDE!"
• I love reading books before bed.
• I can sign 'more' and 'all done.'
• I love guacamole and sour cream.
• I always ask, "Whats that?"
• I sleep 7:00 pm til 7:30 or 8:00 am. I nap 12:30-2:30.
• I respond to questions by shaking my head no or yes. Usually, I say no- no matter what someone asks me.
